Atlas Stool
Teak wood
2017
Commissioned by the Atlas Bookstore in Qatar, Atlas Stool was the collective’s first collaboration. The stools accommodate the shelving of books when assembled, and their locking system allows for their disassembly when needed. MDF is the common wood used in Bahrain which is either painted or with a veneer. As such, choosing the thickest hardwood was an attempt to counter this position and the use of teak wood goes back to the tradition of boat making in Bahrain.
Acquired with the support of Art Bahrain.
